unfortunate situation

I wanted to reach out and let you know how appreciative we are for your interest in playing music and displaying art at First Fridays in the Courtyard. Unfortunately, starting November 5th we won't be able to provide a live music venue. A new resident of the courtyard has made such a stink about the show that we are now not fully supported by all the residents to have live music in the space. We can however, provide an art gallery.

I want to invite all artists that are interested in displaying their art, whether that be preformance art, projections, installations or any innovative way to show one's appreciation for art and music in the community. I am not convinced this should stop what we have accomplished in the past year and a half. It means to much to a lot of people to stop the momentum that we have generated.

I still invite you to please come out and show your support. Let's cross our fingers that they do not renew their lease and we can continually provide Richmond with live music and art each month.

UPDATES:  Gibson's Grill has stepped up and allowed us to have our live music preformed in their lounge area downstairs. After indulging in First Fridays in Jackson Ward, head downtown to Gibson's Grill at 700 E. Broad Street, next to The National. Music starts at 8:30pm.
